MEAL Crew

The meal crew is one of the student's favorites.  This team provides snacks, meals, and drinks for various events.  Your involvement with this team can be in coordinating events, planning meals, cooking, serving, setting up and cleaning, donating funds for meals, or all of the above.  See more detailed information on specific duties below.

AWAY FOOTBALL GAME

Requesting donations for snacks/drinks and being available to receive these items as they are dropped off - Determining dinner plans (planning extra for staff/volunteers) and coordinating with the band director to ensure that it is communicated to band students – factoring alternatives for allergies/special dietary needs - Setting-up food tables – arranged to allow students to pick-up food items quickly and with ease - Coordinating the pick-up and/or delivery of the meal - Inventorying bottled drink/snacks donations - Cleaning-up food tables and distributing extra food that cannot be saved for a later event (perishable or opened items) to band students - Ensuring that the floor is cleared for spilled food/drinks – using the vacuum to clean the carpet - Traveling with the band to the away football game isn’t necessarily required in this volunteer opportunity  - Storing all of the cleaned equipment in the food closet without obstructing the entry pathway - Putting unopened snack/bottled drinks in food closet (ensuring its organization and cleanliness

HOME FOOTBALL GAME

Requesting donations for snacks/drinks and being available to receive these items as they are dropped off - Providing dinner for the marching band (planning extra for staff/volunteers) and coordinating with the band director to ensure that it is communicated to band students – factoring alternatives for allergies/special dietary needs - Setting-up food tables – arranged to allow students to pick-up food items quickly and with ease - Coordinating the ordering, pick-up, delivery, and/or cooking of the meal - Establishing a designated area for cooking the meal (on-campus or off-campus) - Inventorying bottled drink/snacks donations - Cleaning-up food tables and distributing extra food that cannot be saved for a later event (perishable or opened items) to band students - Ensuring that the floor is cleared for spilled food/drinks – using the vacuum to clean the carpet - Storing all of the cleaned equipment in the food closet without obstructing the entry pathway - Putting unopened snack/bottled drinks in food closet (ensuring its organization and cleanliness) - Requesting donations for snacks/drinks and being available to receive these items as they are dropped off - Establishing what meal(s) will be provided during a competition day (determining the menu, portion sizes, etc) – the length of the trip determines if extra meals or snacks are needed - Providing designated meal(s) for the marching band (planning extra for staff/volunteers) and coordinating with the band director to ensure that it is communicated to band students – factoring alternatives for allergies/special dietary needs - Coordinating the ordering, pick-up, delivery, and/or cooking of the meal - Requesting donations for snacks/drinks and being available to receive these items as they are dropped off - Loading all items (tables, pop-up tents, paper products, sanitary products) needed for the meal(s) on the band trailer before leaving campus – equipment will vary based on the meal(s) provided - Establishing a designated area for cooking the meal and feeding the band students (on-campus or off-campus) - Setting-up food tables – arranged to allow students to pick-up food items quickly and with ease - Serving food to the band students and determine how the food will be distributed (handed to them as they get on the bus, in designated area at competition site, in the band room) - Cleaning-up food tables and distributing extra food that cannot be saved for a later event (perishable or opened items) to band students - Reloading all items (tables, pop-up tents, paper products, sanitary products) used during the meal(s) onto the band trailer before leaving the competition site - Inventorying bottled drink/snacks donations - Storing all of the cleaned equipment in the food closet without obstructing the entry pathway - Putting unopened snack/bottled drinks in food closet (ensuring its organization and cleanliness) - If eating in the band room, ensuring that the floor is cleared for spilled food/drinks – using the vacuum to clean the carpet

PARADE

BAND CAMP

Organizing/coordinating volunteers and meal options for lunches provided for the staff members on each day of band camp - Organizing/coordinating volunteers and meal options for dinners provided for the marching band on the longer days during band camp - Organizing/coordinating volunteers and snack options for snacks (ice pops, cold treats) periodically during band camp rehearsals - Helping to manage food sign-ups for the parent preview potluck – communicating the need for side dishes and desserts for this particular meal  - Establishing what meal(s)/snack(s) will be provided during band camp (determining the menu, portion sizes, etc) – the length of the day determines if dinner will be provided - Providing designated meal(s) for the marching band (planning extra for staff/volunteers) and coordinating with the band director to ensure that it is communicated to band students – factoring alternatives for allergies/special dietary needs - Coordinating the ordering, pick-up, delivery, and/or cooking of the meal - Requesting donations for snacks/drinks and being available to receive these items as they are dropped off - Establishing a designated area for cooking the meal and feeding the band students - Setting-up food tables – arranged to allow students to pick-up food items quickly and with ease - Ensure that the cafeteria has been cleaned (tables, floors, and seats) after meals are served to the marching band - Cleaning-up food tables and distributing extra food that cannot be saved for a later event (perishable or opened items) to band students - Inventorying bottled drink/snacks donations - Storing all of the cleaned equipment in the food closet without obstructing the entry pathway - Putting unopened snack/bottled drinks in food closet (ensuring its organization and cleanliness) - If eating in the band room, ensuring that the floor is cleared for spilled food/drinks – using the vacuum to clean the carpet

SENIOR NIGHT

Coordinating the social crew to organize a meal (before the ceremony) and a reception (after the ceremony) - Ensuring that there is enough coverage for this particular event, as each senior band student’s parent(s) will be spending time with their child during the ceremony prior to the football game and escorting him or her onto the football field prior to the halftime performance - Requesting donations for snacks/drinks and being available to receive these items as they are dropped off - Providing dinner for the marching band (planning extra for staff/volunteers) and coordinating with the band director to ensure that it is communicated to band students – factoring alternatives for allergies/special dietary needs - Setting-up food tables – arranged to allow students to pick-up food items quickly and with ease - Coordinating the ordering, pick-up, delivery, and/or cooking of the meal - Establishing a designated area for cooking the meal (on-campus or off-campus) - Inventorying bottled drink/snacks donations - Cleaning-up food tables and distributing extra food that cannot be saved for a later event (perishable or opened items) to band students - Ensuring that the floor is cleared for spilled food/drinks – using the vacuum to clean the carpet - Storing all of the cleaned equipment in the food closet without obstructing the entry pathway - Putting unopened snack/bottled drinks in food closet (ensuring its organization and cleanliness)
