Social  Committee

The Social Committee helps to organize special events for students for teambuilding outside of football games, parades, competitions, and practices.  See more detailed information on specific duties below.

PARADE

Running/organizing social activities that could operate as an after-parade event - Establishing locations for potential events – reserving/booking the venue - Coordinating with the food crew to establish a menu for potential events - Communicating dates/times with band students/parents – sending reminders and passing out invitations to generate interest - Planning fun activities that could happen in during the social event – games, recreation, entertainment - Obtaining the supplies/equipment needed to decorate for the social event    - Helping to set-up and clean-up decorations used within the social event

BAND CAMP

Running/organizing social activities that could operate in conjunction with band camp - Planning social events that could operate in conjunction with the marching band season – brainstorming potential themes, organized meetings at a local business, fun events or happenings - Establishing locations for potential events – reserving/booking the venue - Coordinating with the food crew to establish a menu for potential events - Communicating dates/times with band students/parents – sending reminders and passing out invitations to generate interest - Planning fun activities that could happen in during the social event – games, recreation, entertainment - Obtaining the supplies/equipment needed to decorate for the social event   - Helping to set-up and clean-up decorations used within the social event

PRACTICE

Coordinating with the band director for designated rehearsal dates/times to give out special treats/snacks to band students during practice

SENIOR NIGHT

Coordinating with the food crew to organize a meal (before the ceremony) and a reception (after the ceremony) - Setting up decorations and chairs for the ceremony – developing a seating arrangement for the senior band students and his or her family, creating a decorated centerpiece to serve as a focal point/photography opportunity - Ordering the flowers/posters that will be used to recognize the senior band student - Cleaning up decorations and chairs after the ceremony concludes
